My separate malicious-URL-blocking test doesn't depend on a fixed set of samples. Webroot aced that test, with a perfect 10 points, and Emsisoft Anti-Malware 9.0 £31.16 at Emsisoft UK managed 9.5 points. Those scores would have put it in the bottom half of the group tested using my previous malware collection. IObit Advanced SystemCare 8 Malware Blocking Chart Overall, it detected 79 percent of the samples and scored 7.6 points. It caught components of a few after they launched, but missed a number of others. I proceeded to launch the surviving samples, noting how the antivirus reacted.

It quickly eliminated 68 percent of the samples. When I opened the folder containing my samples, the real-time protection component got right to work.

Since the samples are different, the scores don't necessarily compare directly with other recent reviews, but one thing is clear this product did pretty well, while Malware Fighter totally tanked. The only products tested using the new samples are Advanced SystemCare and IObit Malware Fighter. I've just finished installing a new set of malware samples for my simple hands-on malware blocking test.
